Thank God for Prushield Extra!!!

It's been a busy busy may for all of us, juggling busy sales schedule and personal schedules too.
Went to batam one weekend, the next to bangok and then last but not least, Pulao Hantu. It was a mad rush to submit all my cases within the little time frame that I had. Mad, but REALLY fun. Ever since the start of work in 2007, it has been my sanctuary from other personal matters other than home. I could survive being single and without a partner, but take away my job, I'm left with nothing. Sorry if i sound like a workaholic, but please try to understand women aren't simple creatures... thus the bouts of trouble they bring with them are just nothing but troubles.
The demands of my job enables me to shut out all stupid and useless emotions and just do what I do best - Help people build a healthy financial portfolio. It's a kind of problem that I solve with my best knowledge about the products in the field and at the same time, foster good personal relationships with my clients for a very long time to come.
Batam was fun with the company of my bros and being able to immerse myself in a different culture altogether, like being Kings in those places. A self-esteem booster.
Bangkok was interesting with all the exotic and cheap food, beautiful women ( I think so) and DIRT cheap shopping.
Pulau Hantu was as usual, relaxing and fun jumping into the sea from 3 storeys high. However this year, we encountered a few uninvited guests. Namely, Giant centepede of more than 15 cm long. we went there for a 3 days 2 night camp. It was cut short for me and Bro-Ken. The first casualty on the first night was Bro-ken. He was bitten by one while trying to brush it off his leg with his hand. Bamp! immediately 2 tiny holes was left as a result. We called the police coast guard for help, but they try to 'taichee' the matter away. Bro-ken's face was turning pale due to the intensity of pain he was expriencing. Medic came to the rescue in the form of our own Mr Wing Leong. He tried to stop the blood flow elbow downwards and administered Local Anesthesia on the wound. It help to ease the pain a little. Bro-ken's mom came to the rescue by wrangling the Police coast guard to come and pick the victim up and send him to mainland.
Result: Bro-ken had a major allergic reaction to the bugger's venom and had to stay 3 days in the hospital for further observation.
The second day was not as much fun with our beloved brother away from us and injured. But we tried to make the best out of it and it was still cool. A lot more bonding amongst us and we had great fun bbq-ing chicken wings and garlic bread. Even got to enjoy the day's catch of golden-eye fishes!! After dinner me, my sister, john, lauren and zinc decided to chill alittle on the jetty. Lauren and zinc were intending to spend the night enjoying the sea breeze there. We left the place after witnessing a few lightning near us. Me, john and my sister had to prepare the pavillion for the oncoming weather. While i was helping john to set up the canvess... I felt something crawling on my side. Instinctively, i reach and grab the insect thinking it's just a beetle or something. Bamp! An excruciating pain came from the sting. I yelled loudly. John and my sister, Elina, were stunned. I fling the thing away desperately and showed them my wound. I was already bleeding alittle.
Candidly, I walked to the next pavillion where our medic is while holding onto my injured side and said to him: "eh, I kana bitten by something leh. And i'm bleeding."
Evon (Dan's wife) came over to inspect the wound and exclaimed:' 2 holes!! '
'But I don't know what bit me!!'
They ask me where i was bitten, I directed them to john as the pain is increasing steadfastly. Wing calmly cleaned the wound for me. I turned to see where they went and saw something incredulous. A centepede at least 16cm or more long crawled in between me and wing, slowly but 'happliy' to the greens! I swore profusely at it while it crawled without a care in the world back to its nature world.
I cannot believe what I saw!! But the increasing intensity of pain only confirmed my worst fear. Immediately Dan called for the police coast guard while Zinc handled their questions for my personal particulars.
My camping trip ended there and then. My poor baby sister had to accompany in fright for my condition to SGH and handled the complex paperwork for me.
I received 3 jabs, one on each arm and one on my butt. The jab on the butt is almost as painful as the bite. The medicine was so strong, I knocked out in a matter of seconds after leaving last instructions to my baby sis who had to take cab back home alone. I was in the observation ward for 9 hours before i was discharged. Slept through the pain like a baby. Which i am really grateful.
As I board the coast guard ship, I told boss as I walked past her: Boss thank god for prushield Extra.'
Common people who don't understand the usefulness of insurance often think something as simple as medical insurance as nothing. Little did they know that it's something so insignificant when everything is going well, you just need one little screw-up to land you in big trouble.

PS: Bro-Ken received $125 a day for staying in gov-restructured hospital A1 ward! WOW~!
