ok. A&H challenge is done. Phew~!
31/08 is the day that I came to this world 25 years ago. I made my 1st cry of existance.
Yesterday, I made a cry of determination and victory as I fought tooth and nail to rush all my cases for the challenge.
I was given a chance to re-live dec'08 again. To remember what it feels like to fight till the very last minute, cross the finishing line and then stop in your tracks, with your heart still racing, neurons still firing but only to realise that at the very moment the stopwatch stopped, there's nothing else you can do but to leave things in the hands of divine intervention.
I realised, that I missed this feeling very very much. I don't ever want this to end. So, I will run (ok, sorry kor and boss, I should've done so earlier, but better late than never!)every month till the closing of Prudential Life Ops.
Yesterday, was a frantic rush, due to some screw-ups in underwriting, but I want to run hard just for the sake of incepting more cases, not because I had some shortfall. I wanna experience how it's like to run like that. I don't regret not realising earlier, simply because this is a realisation that has to take place by itself, otherwise, it wont have any impact.
As a (STILL) young financial consultant, there's still alot of things that has to be learnt, not just to achieve. I've learnt alot more about myself, and the exact demands of this career. Answers are simple, yet extremely difficult to execute.
I''m back. Just barely on track. But i'll be on 'Fast Track' by October. :)
Everyone, our company is giving out free money at the end of september, let's go grab it for our Bangkok/Chiangmai trip!!! Woohoo!! 7 more to go. Yeah!
PS: yesterday I worked till 6pm, today I've got 2 appt till most probably 9 plus. Argh!!! A little hard to take a day break sia!!! damn! hahahaha!!!

Mad Mad MAD rush. Ole! Ole! Ole!
Finally, Most of my prushield cases are billed. waiting for payment from CPF.
Any underwriting requirements are more or less handled. One more Photocopy of IC is required.
Due to the personal(not private, but personal)importance of grabbing the A&H challenge, I had to forgo a morning meeting.
Sorry kristy and john, I know you guys are lonely without me/us. (hehe!)
But I'm sure you'd understand that one of the perks of being in a TEAM is to be able to go for trips together!!
So Just for the that day, Closing and securing cases are 1st priority, second to none. Lost my financial calculator yesterday. Was too focused on closing the case and rush to the next appt that I'd forgot to check my belongings!!! SOBS!!!!
Alot of us ran into a 'bit' of trouble with the New Biz department due to the lack of efficiency/manpower in KL side.
It's gonna be a heart attack period for this weekend.
Right now, here in the office, gonna do some calling to set up more appointments for the week to come, after posting this entry.
Gonna fight till the very end of this month, even with A & H aside, there's still a THREE-team challenge... Gotta bag that in too. JR's gonna be away for about a week in Sept, We'd better open up more cases asap...
Don't worry bro, I'm sure you'd already have quite abit in reserves right? hehe...
Birthday's on monday, but celebration's on hold. Wanna give myself a birthday treat to 2 days off-work to rest and relax, before I run, no, SPRINT, the rest of the journey back to home base Barcelona.

Time Flies!!!
ARGH!!! we're coming to the mid of august already!!
Last week friday, an official challenge was issued and two teams were formed. Lovely cash prize to be won! Exciting! Isn't it?
hehe...
What a week! opening and closing, opening and closing.
sounds alittle like Dory in the movie Nemo, 'Just keep swimming, just keep swimming'!
Sorry, cant really type proper sentences... more like point-forms as it's very late already and CPU not running smoothly anymore.

MDRT seminar - Are you a stock or bond?
Yesterday was a really fruitful day. Went for the MDRT seminar arranged by PACS - ACE department. Guest speaker was the MDRT Vice-president Guy E. Baker who has 39 years of experience in the life insurance industry and currently has 5 finance companies under him. A multiple MDRT/COT qualifier since 1975, Mr Baker shared a few interesting and important basic investment principles based on a noble prize winning article called Modern Porfolio Theory.
During this session, Mr Baker showed us with examples that if we are investing in the long term, timing of investments/order of the IRR does not matter, unless we're taking distributions (dividends). This example is really powerful for all of us, to sell more PPA and to win the early incentives given by PACS.
After a 1.5 hr technical lecture on investments, we were treated to a short 20 mins teabreak and a 30min video of a sharing by Moshe A. Milevsky with the title of the talk: Are you a bond or a stock?
A very interesting concept was shared by Dr Milevsky that I feel that could help a lot in our sales process. To sum it in a sentence: Life insurance is a hedge for our Human Capital.
I'm very grateful that the weekend has been fruitful and to have the opportunity to learn more interesting things through the seminar. Now, it's time to apply what I've learnt.

No distractions. Work, work, work.
This week has been great! Got a lot referrals and numbers to call.
Calling sessions' results are also encouraging, with the whole week's evenings packed right up till saturday.
Today's my mummy's birthday... gonna treat them to dinner @ Labrador Seafood! I really hope they'll like the chicken thigh that We love so much. It's a fantastic chance to try out their highly acclaimed seafood too.
Reason of wanting to bring them there was that I love the ambience and peacefulness of the place. I can so picture the 5 of us enjoying a relax and cosy dinner, 'almost' by the seaside too.
Yesterday was Bro-Ken's bday. I've never failed to be amazed by the close proximity of the birthdates of the 2 ppl who means so much to me that it's a tad bit hard to say which is more important. We (boss, lauren, macy, john and wing) celebrated Ken's bday on the strike of 12midnight at Labrador Seafood too. It was cosy, fun and very very (i don't really have the words to describe how i feel).... Happy, genuinely happy and grateful to be able to be one of the first few to wish my brother, mentor and many things more, a very happy birthday.
Kristen closed a case yesterday too!! yay!! happy for you gal!! :)

Many lessons learnt. STEP-UP.
I want to thank the family for making a point to wake up early to reach Raffles Place @ 7.30 am to canvass and to help me see where I'm lacking and the wrong attitude towards, not just canvassing alone, but also towards my work.
I am sorry that I forgot to prepare the survey forms that caused a delay in the start of the project. We only got to start at close to 8.30am.
I am humbled by their sheer determination and confidence that they are in control of the results of getting name. Puts me to shame in regards to my performance at work.
Kristen, John and danny had 10 names by 10.30am. They persevered despite the heavy downpour, never letting the poor weather as an excuse or a reason of tougher situation.
Bro-Ken magnificently brush aside security guards who tried to make things difficult for us and ask us to stop our activities.
Eventually, we got our way.
Wing achieved 30 names by 12 noon through sheer hard work and determination. Each and everyone of you rock.
All in all, I've learnt alot through observing the whole family, spirit and conduct, during surveying.
Thank you, my family. I really appreciate your care and concern. I know, appreciation don't do nuts if I don't do something about my mentality about work and bring in the production required to, not just my own success but also to do justice for the effort, care and concerns the family have for me.
